Coconut Oil Benefits of Applying on the Face Overnight

Home » Health & Fitness » Coconut Oil Benefits of Applying on the Face Overnight

Coconut Oil is derived from the wick, meat, and milk of the coconut palm fruit, also known as coconut butter. Coconut oil is a white solid fat that melts at warmer room temperatures of about 25 °C (77 °F) during the summer months in warmer locations.

Fatty acids included in coconut oil are nutritious and aid in hydrating and protecting skin. These include lauric acid, which has antimicrobial qualities, and linoleic acid (vitamin F), which aids in the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

There are three main types of coconut oil:

  • Unrefined
  • Refined
  • Liquid

UNREFINED

The best coconut oil for skin care is unrefined, which is produced by pressing the edible coconut flesh and typically doesn’t include other additives.

REFINED

Commercially produced coconut oils come in a wide range of quality. Chemical refinement is used to process some oils. These could not have as many advantageous characteristics and might be harsher on the skin.

LIQUID

Most cooking is done using liquid coconut oils.

APPLYING COCONUT OIL ON THE FACE OVERNIGHT

Raw coconuts or dried coconut flakes are used to make coconut oil, which is a type of fat. As a result, when used as a nighttime moisturizer, its emollient characteristics may be advantageous for some skin types, such as dry or normal-to-dry skin.

Using coconut oil in place of your typical moisturizer if you have dry, flaky skin may soften and hydrate your skin, leaving it looking rejuvenated and smooth when you wake up.

BENEFITS OF USING COCONUT OIL ON YOUR FACE OVERNIGHT

Promotes hydration: Coconut oil supports the barrier function of your skin, retaining moisture to keep the skin supple and hydrated.

Decreases Inflammation: Due to its anti-inflammatory qualities, coconut oil is helpful for skin that is inflamed or chafed.

Promotes the formation of collagen: Collagen formation is aided by the lauric acid present in coconut oil. Skin’s suppleness and firmness are maintained by collagen. Some fine lines and wrinkles may not occur if collagen is supported in the skin’s maintenance and production.

HOW SHOULD COCONUT OIL BE APPLIED ON THE FACE OVERNIGHT

Apply coconut oil to your face as you would any night cream.

Steps to use coconut oil overnight:

1. Gently rub 1 tablespoon of coconut oil between your palms to liquefy it. A silky, airy texture will be present in the liquefied oil.

2. Apply to your neck and face. Additionally, you can apply coconut oil to your chest and other dry body parts.

3. Use a soft tissue to carefully wipe away any heavy residue. Use paper towels instead since cotton balls will stick to the oil on your face.

4. Overnight, apply a thin coating of coconut oil on your skin.

5. Avoid having coconut oil in your eyes because it could momentarily impair your vision.

6. Coconut oil can double as a makeup remover before being used as a night cream if you’re pressed for time. Simply repeat these actions twice. Use once to softly remove makeup, then one more to leave a light layer of protection on your skin.
